Have a holiday brunch!

The holidays are SO busy, and many of us won’t even see the time go by. Most festivities you will attend are likely to be held in the evening, but have you thought about hosting a holiday themed brunch? It’s simpler than you think!
Brunches are wonderful for so many reasons. First, it’s breakfast food, and nobody can say no to breakfast. Second, it’s a late morning gathering, a time when your friends and loved ones will probably be free to attend (as opposed to the many dinner parties scheduled this season.) Lastly, brunches are the politically correct excuse for drinking champagne in the daytime. Did somebody mimosa? (That would me!)
My hubby’s cousin Katia is a hostess with the mostest, and she recently had the family over for a delightful brunch. In anticipation of a busy December, Katia and her hubby Eric decided that a mid-November brunch would be the best way for all to see each before the hussle and bussle of the holidays.
They served a delightfully fancy daytime feast, enjoyable down to the very last detail. Inspired by a certain domestic goddess, their menu consisted of simple but oh-so-lovely dishes, including French toast made with panettone (famous Italian holiday cake), bacon & egg baskets, and truffle oil scrambled eggs. These are your typical breakfast foods, but with a cutesie, brunchy twist.

Of course, no brunch is complete without a little bubbly. At this particular get-together, we drank champagne and orange juice, and cranberry-orange sparklers: elegantly sweet drinks to compliment a beautiful meal.
Everyone always leaves brunch satisfied and happy. If you plan on hosting during the holidays, I suggest you opt for an easy-going gathering. You and your guests will enjoy each other’s company in a relaxed ambiance, a welcome contrast to your busy Christmas season!
