novembre 12, 2013he holidays are here! It did seem like stores started a little too early this year, but I believe that the best part about Christmas is the build-up. Hurray for pre-Christmas preparations!![]() |

Every year, I
get really excited about baking Christmas cookies. I bake once and a while
during the year, but there’s something about Christmas baking that really
motivates me! The colours, the ingredients, the GINGERBREAD and the peppermint!!!
Christmas cookies are all so pretty and delicious. The issue, though, is that
there are WAY too many choices. I have tons of recipes that I’ve never even
tried because after one or two recipes, I’m all baked out. Some of you might be
super bakers, and have no issues with baking 27 different kinds of treats
during the holidays. While my motivation is on high, it is also only lasts for
the first couple of cookie batches.
Well, I have a
solution for you, my Christmas-cookie-loving reader! You could host a COOKIE PARTY!
Here’s the concept:
1.
Invite your guests, and ask
each one to bring a kind of homemade cookie
2.
Display the cookies for all to
enjoy throughout the evening. Have lots of milk, coffee, hot chocolate, Bailey’s,
and other holiday drinks on hand.
3.
When guests leave, they leave
with a Ziplock bag filled with other people’s cookies!
The beauty
behind this idea is that you can try a variety of cookies without having to do
all the baking. Plus, your guests will leave with a lovely bag of treats to
enjoy or share with others. ‘Tis the season to share, after all!
As the host,
you’re going to want to make sure that guests actually leave with cookies, or
else you’re stuck with 4000 cookies. Unless you want to eat your weight in sweets,
I suggest you buy lots of Ziplock bags, and display them on the table as well.

Happy baking!
