Christmas party decor // Glass jars!

décembre 17, 2013

Ho Ho Ho!

Today, I’d like to share the easiest way to give your place that chic festive look, without having to break your budget. The secret is an inexpensive glass container (ie grandma’s old candy jars, apothecary jars, or even dollar store martini glasses.)

The holidays are a time for sweets, and it’s always nice to have a little something to offer guests when they visit. I wouldn’t encourage having candy readily available all year long, but candy jars in December are so elegantly festive! If you’re looking to spruce up your holiday décor, go for this 2-in-1 option!

* Step 1: Rummage around your home for any old candy jar or cookie jar that you may have forgotten about. If you’d like something on a smaller scale, use a cute martini glass

* Step 2: Choose a brightly coloured candy (mini candy canes, m&ms, Hershey’s Kisses, etc.)

* Step 3: Fill’er up!

I got the idea from Canadian Living, and then decided to try it, I went all the way. I happened to inherit many adorable glass jars from my great aunt. I never really had much use for them, and now I do! My husband and I had a few friends over, and the candy was a hit!

Another easy way to decorate your home without busting your budget is with old Christmas ornaments. Take a glass jar or vase, and fill it with old ornaments that you don’t really use anymore. Instantly, you’ll have a chic, hassle-free Christmas decoration!

Have a great one!
