New lipstick, new me.

Hi there!
At the beginning of this wintery season, I was thinking about getting a new colour of lipstick. Ya, I had to think about it. I’m not very spontaneous when it comes to makeup, and I’m extremely picky as to what I put on my face (I have sensitive skin.) Anyway, the last few winters, I’ve been using a kind of pink-ish purple color (formally known as “Plumful” by MAC).
It’s been great, but I felt like I needed a change. Something a little darker, a little more bold. I don’t know why. Maybe I’m feeling older, and a little more confident? Maybe it’s because dark lipsticks are making a comeback (soooo 90s!) Whatever the reason was, I had to go shopping.
After trying a couple of colors, I ended up with “Rebel”, a gorgeous, dark, red-wine-like colour. When you put it on, it’s more beet-like, with a hint of pink.
It reminds me of the gothic look, but with a sweet romantic feel. I love it! And the makeup girl who sold it to me said that this was one of the most popular colours this season.

It’s a little intimidating to go for such a dark colour, but I feel awesome wearing it. Since it’s the dead of winter, you need to something to brighten up your day. In my case, it’s when I look in the mirror. Sometimes all you need to refresh your look is to change one little thing. Applying my new lipstick is a total mood changer! I now face winter with my best face forward ;)
