Kicking Off Summer with Montreal’s #LobsterClamJam !
juin 05, 2014
I had the pleasure of attending the 2nd
edition of the Lobster Clam Jam on Sunday, May 25th and what a great
event filled with good eats, fun music and beautiful people.
Kiosks from 20 popular Montreal restaurants
were set up in the courtyard of Château St-Ambroise in St-Henri, along the
Lachine Canal. Mother Nature was smiling down on us and it was the perfect time
to sample some mojitos from the mojito bar, courtesy of Nectar et Mixologie.
The raspberry mojitos and the mango mojitos did a fantastic job at quenching
our thirst as we lay out on the grass, watching paddlers and bikers along the
Lachine Canal. Of course, no Montreal event would be complete without a healthy
dose of beautiful people watching. The crowd was gorgeous, decked out in casual
summer clothes and staple Ray Bans. “We woke up like this”, Montreal.
We got to sample some deliciously authentic
Italian meatballs from Brama, lobster sushi from Ryu, lobster tail, lobster
rolls from the newly opened Jargo, as well as some zeppole and cronuts from La
Cornetteria. There were so many options to try, we had to do a few rounds of
the kiosks to finally settle on what to order!
This was a great family affair as strollers
and young kids milled about the grounds, got their face painted and posed with
a giant lobster mascot and the Starlight Foundation mascot. In fact, a part of
the funds collected were put to good use and were donated to the Starlight Children’s
Foundation.
Montreal events can feel so magical and the
Lobster Clam Jam is definitely a fun and delicious tradition to be adopted year
after year. Cheers to more Sunkissed Summer Sunday Fundays!
