Where to: Thursday 5à7 at #NewCityGas

As summer 5à7s heat up, Thursdays at New
City Gas are back for another year of cocktails, good music and cool
surroundings in the ever-so-trendy Griffintown.
With endless condos in sight and the area
becoming more residential, this year’s 5à7s at New City Gas take place on the
side and back terraces. Pretty people mill about in between 2 tall brick
buildings, under twinkling lights, with a slither of the downtown view in
sight, and it feels incredibly unique and dare I say, slightly magical. Unlike
our earlier years of heading to Thursday evening outings after a long day of
work without supper, it’s imperative to grab a bite or risk the wrath of hangry
company. Luckily, there are different food stations to help you ease the
rage/hunger that may pop up.
The crowd is perfect for people-watching,
and it’s not uncommon for crop tops, shorter hemlines and open-back shirts to
start making an appearance later in the evening. At the opening event, there
was a special cocktail station and about 3-4 bars. One drawback: make sure you
have enough cash for cover charge and drinks at the bar. You’ll be there for a
while!
