The older I get, the less time I have for
sifting through disorganized stores, wading through crowds of aggressive
shoppers and looking endlessly for my size. Enter my solution: online shopping!
The anticipation and thrill of receiving a package, unwrapping it, revealing my
purchase and trying it on honestly makes me feel like a kid on Christmas
morning every single time. Some of my favorite stores now excel in fast
shipping, easy returns, great selection and awesome sales. Needless to say,
I’ve practically befriended the delivery men and women. Here’s my personal list
of go-to online shopping sites.
Have you ever walked into Zara when they
had their sales or during lunchtime? It’s mayhem. Since I’ve resorted to
shopping on their site, my collection of Zara items in my closet has grown and
stress levels decreased. Their shipping is incredibly fast and free for
purchases over $50. I love that I can either walk into the store to return
anything that doesn’t fit or simply put it in a box and have Canada Post work
their magic. Don’t forget to check out the shoe section! There are always some
fantastic Zara finds.
If you sign up to their newsletter, you’ll
often receive special offers for up to 40% off on a regular basis. With awesome
work and play pieces as well as a petite section, the discounts,
fast shipping (free for orders over $50) and easy returns keep me coming back
to their site. Special tip: check out their jewelry selection. Definitely
worthwhile with their discounts for wedding season and cocktail parties!
If you’re looking for a unique dress, skirt
or top that so very few other Montrealers will own, then you must check out
1861. I’ve ordered a few special pieces from the store and again, they had an
amazing customer experience. The purchases are packaged in some pretty paper
with a sweet, personalized, hand-written note that always puts a smile at my
face.
When it comes to home décor, the in-store
experience can be overwhelming. Joss & Main simplifies the process using
curated collections based on themes. “Sun-Filled Skies”, “Hamptons Chic”,
“Rustic Luxe”, I browse them all! Their email newsletters are a Pinterest
user’s dream, and the pieces they sell are unique. Bigger pieces may not always ship to Canada
and you may need to be careful about duties, but for a special piece, it’s
worth the trouble.
