Be kind, Montreal! #LoveMTL

There’s a movement going around in Montreal, and it’s a kind
one. Amid the protests and politics, there’s something new in town that will
surely bring a smile to your face. Love Montreal is a movement that encourages
Montrealers to commit acts of kindness, and to share them with the world.
There’s nothing to it either: do something nice, and tell them about it.

Love Montreal promotes kindness by sharing acts of kindness
through social media. Take a picture of yourself doing something nice (or as
they, a selfless-selfie!) and hashtag it: #LoveMTL. Check it out, there are
tons of people out there doing super nice things: helping strangers, sharing
food, leaving really big tips… Of course people were doing nice things before
this movement, but it sure is nice to hear and see these stories that take
place in our city on a daily basis.

The organization is currently looking for volunteers to
participate and promote their movement at events taking place around the city.
(I happened to meet these guys at the Oyster Fest a few weeks ago, and they
were also present at the Monkland Street fest back in August.) They also hold
challenges to increase the number of kind acts Montrealers can do. If you email
them with 10 acts of kindness that you’ve done and shared, they will send you
one their ultra soft t-shirts. You can also purchase their tees, from which
profits 100% go back into the promotion of kindness.
No one can argue with the power behind any simple act of
kindness. Love Montreal encourages you to do something kind today :)
